ORNapa Ridge Chardonnay California 2005 (USA)
Pale gold color. The nose is unmistakably New World Chardonnay with notes of butter and wood leading the charge. The palate is flabby, one-dimensional, and altogether lackluster. It is drinkable but your money would be better spent elsewhere.

NO Sauvignon Blanc Lake County 2006 (USA)
Pale straw color. The nose is expressive and ultra clean with crisp notes of grapefruit and tart, green apples, accented by notes of fresh cut grass and gooseberry. The palate is generous and perfectly balanced showcasing ultra bright citrus fruits with a touch of ginger. NO oak, no malolactic, and no cork - just great! A Best Buy.

Nord Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2004 (USA)
Deep, dark red color. The nose is dominated by dry, austere fruit with large pleasing doses with a healthy mineral component. The palate is medium to full bodied with a lovely marriage of ripe and tart fruit with a nice dose of acid and a judicious use of oak. Classic Napa Cabernet.

Nord Estate Cabernet Sauvignon “Jonquil Vineyards” Napa Valley 2006 (USA)
Deep, dark ruby red color. The nose is dry, austere, and understated with scents of dried fruits, spice box, earth, and oak. The palate is generous while lean with tart fruits, mineral, earth, and wood. Very Old World in style and weight. A very pleasing wine with plenty of charm.

Nord Estate Cabernet Sauvignon “Page Nord Vineyards” Napa Valley 2005 (USA)
Deep garnet to purple color. The nose reveals dense fruit, earth and spice. The palate offers much of the same bringing waves of ripe berries with allspice, clove, and nutmeg. Nicely balanced with perhaps a touch of a green note reminiscent of tart, under ripe apples appearing on the back palate. A pleasing wine with a great balance of fruit to acid and wood.

Nord Estate Cabernet Sauvignon “Page Nord Vineyards” Napa Valley 2006 (USA)
Deep ruby red color with a touch of purple. The nose is dense with ripe raspberry and cherry with accents of allspice, clove, dried blueberry, and stylish oak. The palate echoes the nose delivering lush ripe fruits with dried berries with waves of herbs, spice, vanilla, and black pepper. Ideally balanced with great length and structure. A youthful wine that will age gracefully for up to a decade while it is very pleasing today.

Nord Estate Petite Sirah “Jonquil Vineyards” Napa Valley 2004 (USA)
Deep, dark and purple color. The nose is filled with the aroma of freshly crushed blackberries and wild berries with hints of chocolate, black pepper, and pine needles. The palate confirms the same while being lushly textured. A classic Petite Sirah being dense, fruity, and spicy. While not always a fan of the “fruit bomb” style, this wine has such great balance and style that we can’t conceal our admiration.

Nord Estate Petite Sirah “Jonquil Vineyards” Napa Valley 2005 (USA)
Deep garnet red color. The nose is filled with a complex mélange of black fruit and earth scents with accents of exotic brown spices and measured wood notes. The palate confirms the nose being lush while wonderfully balanced offering a semi-tart dried berry note that plays the perfect foil to the jammy blackberry flavors. Great length and structure. A real gem.

Nord Estate Petite Sirah “Jonquil Vineyards” Napa Valley 2006 (USA)
Deep, dark ruby red color. The nose is dense and complex with aromatics of fresh crushed blackberries with scents of dried fruits, brown spices, notes of autumn leaves, cocoa nibs. The palate gives further dimension to the aromatics on a generous fruit driven core with accents of earth and spice. Ideally structured with perfect balance and length as the finish trails on for nearly a minute revealing a mélange of fruit flavors. Simply beautiful.

Nord Estate Pinot Noir “Green Island Vineyards” Napa Valley 2003 (USA)
Deep purple color. The nose is filled with jammy grape and crushed berry notes with a hint of minerality. The palate confirms the nose and then some revealing a massive fruit bomb that finishes a bit angular with a hit of mild tannins, acid and wood.
