Dark, inky ruby red with purple highlights. The nose reveals a classic Bordeaux aromatic profile offering scents of blackberry and cassis with hints of plum, mineral, pencil lead, and oak. The palate echoes the nose delivering a rich core of concentrated black fruit flavors flanked by earth and sexy brown spices. Ideally balanced with a well proportioned dose of acidity. Deep, dark ruby red color. The nose is filled with the scent of dense red cherry with accents of brown baking spice, black pepper, dried herbs, and touches of oak. The palate is on par with the multilayered nose delivering a well-balanced fruit attack with complimenting notes of fennel, earth, and sandalwood. This is a super Merlot for the money filled with fruit and nuance with great balance. A Best Buy.
Coastline Pinot Grigio Monterey 2009 (USA)FEATURED
Brilliant pale straw color. The nose is ultra fresh with crisp green apple, pear, white peach, lemon, and green melon with hints of mineral, and grapefruit zest. The palate echoes the nose delivering waves of fresh, ripe fruit with semi-tart citrus notes. When we consider the price we just say wow as this wine delivers far more of the positive attributes of Pinot Grigio than most of its contemporaries. Ideally balanced with a crisp finish.

Deep, dark garnet red color. The nose is simply beautiful offering scents of blackberry, cherry, cassis, and plum with accents of allspice, nutmeg, cocoa, black pepper, and vanilla tinged oak. The palate echoes the nose delivering a lush, silky fruit core that builds and builds with layers of spice and oak. Incredibly supple while ideally balanced with soft, chewy tannins and long trailing spice and oak notes mingling with the dense black fruit. A poster child of Napa mountain Cabernet.

Deep ruby red veering toward black being entirely opaque. The aromatics are redolent of vintages past for this great wine offering scents of freshly crushed black fruits with red fruit in support. Accents of brown baking spices, pine cone, dark chocolate, and vanilla tinged oak round out the aromatics. The palate is as dense and full as the nose would suggest offering a broad core of ripe, fresh fruit with flanking notes of spice and oak. Ideally balanced with great length and firm but approachable tannins. Another classic.

Deep ruby red veering toward black being nearly opaque. This wine has certainly set a signature style. The nose offers dense, concentrated aromatics of freshly crushed blackberry, currants, and cassis with supporting notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, forest floor, and loads of brown baking spices. The palate matches the intensity of the nose with an expansive fruit-driven core that tests the known dimensions of the palate. Perfectly balanced with a generous dose of vibrant acidity that is seamlessly woven from the entry to the finish. The tannins are delivered in layers building on the everlasting finish. Each sip invites the next and offers another chance to search for minor flaws. There are no flaws. This beauty delivers pleasure today but I hope to be there to enjoy this wine at its pinnacle.

The nose is explosive and complex with aromatics of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, and plum with accents of mineral, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and leather. The palate is in full agreement with the nose offering layers of fruit and spice. The texture is near perfection being lush while vibrant with balancing acid. Great structure with incredible length leading to a finish with chewy tannins and deft oak notes. Fans of bold Napa Cabernets who have not experienced the great Cornerstone Cabernets need to get on the bandwagon now.

Deepest, darkest ruby red veering toward purple. The nose is incredibly seductive building in intensity with each passing nosing. Aromatics of black cherry, blackberry, cassis, and plum with accents of mineral, allspice, nutmeg, dark chocolate, and oak. The palate is in full agreement with the nose with the possible of exception of the nose unable to communicate just how dense and concentrated this wine is on the palate. Fantastic structure and length with waves of ripe fruit and vibrant acidity leading toward a finish with weighty, youthful tannins. This is an intriguing bottle of wine today but the promise of what lies ahead after five to 10 years in the cellar is damn exciting.

Deepest, darkest ruby red color. The nose is incredibly reminiscent of Bordeaux with scents of dry earth and cocoa powder, and brown spices are as evident as the dense fruit. Scents of black cherry, blackberry, and plum mingle with earth, oak, and spice. The palate echoes the nose with a core of rich, ripe fruit enveloped by the complex mix of spice, herbs, oak, and earth. Ideally balanced being bold and delicate in a single sip. Wonderfully structured with the promise of a long life. Bravo!
Cornerstone Oregon Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2010 (USA)FEATURED
Bright ruby red with glimmers of light shining through. The nose rises from the glass as it pours delivering lush fruit. As the wine settles it offers aromas of dark cherry with red and black berries too, supported by loads of brown spices, deft earth tones, cocoa, and sexy toasted oak with a streak of vanilla. The palate is in full agreement with the nose offering all that was promised and more. Beautifully textured with great length and ideal balance. This is a gorgeous Pinot that much of Burgundy would love to duplicate if they only could.
