Brilliant, bright copper color. The nose reveals a gorgeous honeyed fruit core with evidence of a sweet malt component and accents of roasted cashew, toasted grain, and treacle. The palate agrees with the nose being a bit drier than expected with an interesting dark chocolate and coffee note on the finish. A real charmer.

Rich golden color. The nose reveals a light, grain focused Whiskey with hints of honey, pepper, clove, and a green grassy accent. The palate delivers on the promise of the nose. The Whiskey’s edges and finish are vibrant and zesty but well integrated with the Whiskey’s core. This Whiskey seems to be back on track once again offering soft, fruit and grain flavors with style and grace.
King’s Ginger Liqueur (Netherlands); 41% abv (Netherlands)
Brilliant pale golden color. The aromatics are simply beautiful offering much more than ginger alone with supporting notes of citrus zest and pulp, sugar cane juice, lemongrass, and galangal with hints of jasmine. The palate echoes the nose delivering a potent ginger and pepper surge presented on a viscous canvas that carries the flavors on for minutes after swallowing. A super digestif and ripe and ready for endless cocktail applications.
Knappogue Castle “Single Malt” 15 yr old Irish Whiskey (Ireland); 43% abv (Ireland)
Brilliant pale gold color. The nose is incredibly beautiful and complex seamlessly weaving aromas of sweet grains and caramelized tropical fruits (pineapple, banana, & coconut) with accents of tea biscuits and candied ginger. The palate echoes the same notes being supple and lush with a hint of spice and a touch of wood. This great Whiskey is a marriage of casks from 1990, 91, and 92. I found it to at its best with a splash of water.
Knappogue Castle “Single Malt” 1995 Irish Whiskey (Ireland); 40% abv (Ireland)
Pale gold/straw color. A seductive and complex nose of wild honey, toasted grain, wild flowers, butterscotch, and oak. The palate is soft with delicate malt notes accented by hints of pepper, vanilla, and a firm dose of oak. Classically round and melodious with a slightly sweet note that becomes decidedly drier on the finish. Slainte!
Kübler Absinthe (Switzerland); 53% abv (Switzerland)
Crystal clear. The nose is bright filling the nose with anise and dark star anise with accents of coriander, fennel seed, and caraway (although not listed as one of their botanicals) as represented in dark rye bread. The palate is lush, rich, and round being quite assertive while not at all spirity or cloying. A pleasing example of European Absinthe.
