Deep golden color. Scents of heather, peat, and fresh cut grass fill the nose. The palate confirms the nose while integrating a beautiful smoky note. It’s texturally creamy while sprite being enveloped in a spicy, zesty exterior that guards and contrasts the semi-viscous core. A complex malt that walks the line between lush and dry.
Diamond 100 Vodka (USA); 40% abv (USA)
Crystal clear. The nose is assertively steely-mineral with a healthy citrus zest impression. The palate echoes the aromatics with a semi-viscous mouthfeel and long lingering flavors of citrus and wet river stones. Altogether silky and luxurious. The finish offers a short burst of pepper that quickly fades to soft talc.
Domaine de Canton Cognac & Ginger Liqueur (France); 28% abv (France)
Clear, pale gold color. The nose is beautifully complex with hints of honey, and fresh, spicy ginger leading the charge. The palate perfectly balances viscosity and sweetness with tart and spicy notes. Amazingly pure offering true flavors of candied ginger with complimentary vanilla and brandy notes. An outstanding liqueur that while tremendous on its own, offers a staggering number of cocktail possibilities.
Don Julio Anejo, 100% Agave (Mexico); 40% abv (Mexico)
Light gold color, darker than their reposado but still lighter than most anejo. The aromatics first reveal a serious wood influence with pickle barrel notes and sweet vanilla with faint notes of salt and herbs. Round and soft on the palate with a green bell pepper note surrounded by sweet caramel and baked fruit flavors. The finish is a bit chaotic fluctuating between sweet and savory.
Don Julio Blanco, 100% Agave Tequila (Mexico); 40% abv (Mexico)
Brilliant and crystal clear with a platinum edge. Beautifully floral & fruity with notes of pepper and wild mint, a melange of Pier One candles, and plenty of fragrant baked agave scents. Medium-bodied with complex peppery and salty flavors with under ripe peach, melons, dried herbs, and lavender. This is a benchmark blanco showing that the best Tequila is not in need of wood or anything else to be a stylish and contemplate spirit.
Don Julio Reposado, 100% Agave (Mexico); 40% abv (Mexico)
Bright pale straw color. The wood notes (vanilla and nut) pop out of the nose but are quickly followed by fresh cut herbs, soft citrus notes, and wild flower honey. A soft palate entry leads to a fruit driven core of baked apples and pears with accents of black pepper, chili, brown spices, pickle barrel, and citrus zest. The substantial finish that builds and then lasts for a good minute. Very stylish and ideal for after dinner sipping.
